Veterinarian

Green Bay, Wisconsin

Packerland Veterinary Center is hiring!  Known for our staff longevity and quality medicine, Packerland has a rare opening for an Associate Doctor and are looking for someone special to add to our family.  We pride ourselves on providing top-notch veterinary care with a compassionate touch. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Veterinarian to join our dynamic team. Unlike corprate owned practices we allow our veterinarians to practice medicine with freedom. No quota's, no algorithm's, no flowcharts, no appointment minimums. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for animal care, and the ability to effectively communicate with pet owners about their pets' health needs. As part of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various medical conditions in pets, performing surgeries, prescribing medications, and advising pet owners on proper pet care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues.
  • Perform surgical procedures as necessary.
  • Administer vaccinations and prescribe medications.
  • Develop treatment plans for sick or injured animals.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment options, preventive care measures, and follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with clinic standards.
  • Collaborate with other veterinary staff members to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid state veterinary license (or ability to obtain one).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals along with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.

Certified Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician to add to our busy practice. At Packerland we value each member of team and utilize them to the fullest of their potential. Our technicians are integral to keeping our hospital running smooth and efficient and their knowledge and experience drive our desire to improve patient care and overall hospital experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our veterinarians in exam rooms: obtain histories, medical chart documentation, enter billing, animal restraint, fill prescriptions and provide client education.
  • Collect blood and perform various laboratory tests.
  • Administering medications, vaccines and treatments as prescribed by our veterinarians.
  • Intravenous catheter placement.
  • Organizing the surgery caseload – Calculate and administer pre-op and induction medications, intubation, anesthetic monitoring, surgical prep.
  • Assist the veterinarian with surgery, ultrasound, radiographs, diagnostic testing.
  • Dental radiographs, prophylaxis, charting.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Veterinary Technician license in the state of Wisconsin
  • Strong desire to provide the highest quality of care
  • Leadership skills and the abilities to multi-task and stay calm in stressful situations
